Job Description As a member of DCS Asset Maintenance, we are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Roads Grounds Maintenance Technician. In this role, you will perform essential tasks related to highway mowing operations and maintain the grounds using a variety of hand tools and lawn equipment. Your ability to assemble, install, and maintain equipment for our roadways will be key to our success. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Promote a strong safety culture by adhering to all safety policies and procedures. Conduct roadside mowing in compliance with project scope and FDOT regulations. Follow the safety procedures, policies, and guidelines set forth by FDOT. Meet employer expectations and maintain quality standards consistently. Execute all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures. Set up necessary Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) for various tasks such as roadside mowing and vegetation maintenance. Use equipment, including tractors, zero-turn mowers, chainsaws, edgers, and blowers, to keep roadside areas well-maintained. Maintain all hand and power tools, ensuring they are in good working order. Report on necessary repairs needed for client assets and company tools. Complete assigned ground maintenance tasks efficiently and in a timely manner. Work independently with minimal supervision, exercising good judgment. Interact with the public in a friendly and helpful manner. Foster positive relationships with co-workers, customers, contractors, and suppliers. Encourage a customer service culture among team members. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is required. Must be at least 18 years of age. Valid driver's license with a minimum of 3 years of clear driving record (pass an MVR search). Reliable transportation is required. At least 1 year of experience in groundskeeping or maintenance is necessary. Ability to work in various outdoor conditions. Comfortable working near fast-moving traffic. This is a labor-intensive position requiring standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, or crouching for extended periods. Advanced MOT certification is preferred.
