Locum Tenens Psychiatrist Services

We are seeking a Locum Tenens Outpatient Psychiatrist to provide high-quality psychiatric care to Veterans at the Houston VA Medical Center. This is a 100% outpatient role with no inpatient, overnight, or emergency department responsibilities. You'll work within a collaborative, interdisciplinary mental health team serving a diverse Veteran population. Responsibilities Conduct outpatient psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits Provide medication management and treatment planning Diagnose and treat a broad range of mental health conditions Perform suicide risk assessments and crisis interventions (outpatient setting) Document all encounters in the VA electronic health record (CPRS/Cerner) Collaborate with psychology, social work, nursing, and primary care teams Schedule & Coverage Monday-Friday, daytime clinic hours No nights, weekends, or call Assignment length: Ongoing with option to extend Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical school Completion of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry residency Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Psychiatry (ABPN preferred) Active, unrestricted medical license (any U.S. state) Active DEA registration Ability to meet VA credentialing and privileging requirements Compensation & Benefits Competitive locum tenens compensation Malpractice insurance provided Dedicated credentialing and onboarding support Why This Opportunity?
