Position Overview We are on the lookout for a Senior Financial Analyst to be at the forefront of our product costing and pricing strategy for SaaS offerings. In this pivotal role, you'll conduct comprehensive financial analyses to uncover cost drivers, provide insight into pricing decisions, and highlight opportunities for profitability enhancement. The perfect candidate will blend technical financial expertise with outstanding collaboration skills across Product, Sales, and Operations teams. Key Responsibilities Cost Analysis & Financial Modeling Conduct in-depth costing analysis for SaaS products, encompassing both Cloud and On-Premise infrastructures, hardware, support services, and licensing. Perform detailed cost modeling to assess revenue drivers' impacts on P&L performance and gross margins. Create and sustain robust financial models to oversee product delivery costs, allocation methods, and unit economics. Evaluate cost structures across various product lines and customer segments to refine pricing and market strategies. Develop methodologies for the equitable allocation of support and service costs across products and customer segments. Pricing Strategy Support Collaborate with Product Pricing, Management, and Deal Desk teams to assess and recommend pricing strategies. Build and maintain pricing models and tools for data-driven pricing decisions and profitability assessments. Analyze business metrics to inform discussions regarding pricing strategy. Support pricing optimization initiatives by examining price elasticity, competitive positioning, and margin impacts. Ensure pricing decisions are backed by accurate and current cost data and financial objectives. Financial Statement Analysis & Reporting Exhibit a thorough understanding of financial statements, with a particular focus on P&L dynamics, revenue costs, and gross margin drivers. Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) linked to pricing effectiveness, cost optimization, and margin performance. Investigate variances between actual costs and forecasts, determining root causes and proposing corrective actions. Prepare insightful presentations and financial reports for executives, translating intricate analyses into actionable insights. Cross-Functional Partnership & Systems Support Assist in enhancing pricing systems (CPQ) for precise pricing and efficient quoting workflows. Provide analytical support during the implementation of pricing systems and process optimizations. Effectively communicate financial analysis and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strategic Analysis & Projects Lead analytical projects to identify potential profit improvement opportunities. Respond to ad hoc financial analysis requests for new product launches, pricing alterations, or cost management initiatives. Engage in special projects focused on cost structure redesign, margin enhancement, or pricing transformation. Collaborative Environment Work closely with Finance, Product Management, Sales Operations, Customer Support, and Go-to-Market teams. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Mathematics, or a related discipline. 5-7 years of relevant experience in finance roles, emphasizing cost accounting, FP&A, or pricing analysis. 2-3 years of experience in technology, particularly within software, cloud, or SaaS settings. Proven background in cost modeling, margin analysis, and an understanding of product delivery economics. Strong proficiency with financial statements, especially P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis, with a focus on revenue costs and profitability dynamics. Technical & Analytical Skills Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for effective financial modeling, data analysis, and report generation. In-depth understanding of SaaS business models and their cost structures. Experience with subscription pricing models and frameworks for recurring revenue. Knowledgeable in cost allocation and activity-based costing principles. Familiar with technology infrastructure costing and service delivery economics. Working knowledge of CPQ systems or relevant pricing tools is a plus. Strong quantitative and qualitative research capabilities. Core Competencies Robust analytical skills with a focus on understanding cost drivers in product and service delivery. Exceptional problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail. Strong business insight connecting financial analysis to strategic outcomes. Self-motivated and proactive, capable of managing multiple priorities effectively. Proven relationship-building and teamwork skills across functions. Capability to influence decisions based on data-driven insights and sound financial reasoning. What You Will Bring Demonstrated success in cost modeling, margin forecasting, and developing pricing strategies. Experience analyzing cost of goods sold (COGS) in relevant technology sectors. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure costs (AWS, Azure, GCP). Knowledge of professional services and support cost modeling. Experience with business intelligence tools like Tableau or Power BI. Understanding of SaaS revenue recognition principles. CPA, CFA, or CMA certifications are beneficial but not mandatory. Why Join Teradata? Salary Range: $84,000.00 - $126,000.00 Annually Your starting pay will depend on factors like geographic location, internal equity, relevant skills, and experience.
