Financial Analyst - Operations and Production

Position Title: Financial Analyst - Operations and Production Department: Finance Reports To: Chief Financial Officer / Finance Manager FLSA Status: Exempt Compensation: $75,000 - $92,000 / year Work location: Dayton, Oregon Position Summary: The Financial Analyst - Operations and Production plays a crucial role in delivering financial insights that empower the organization's operational and production efforts. This dynamic position collaborates with various teams to boost financial efficiency, cut costs, and drive decisions that significantly enhance productivity and profitability. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Analyze production and operations data to uncover trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement. Prepare and review comprehensive financial reports related to manufacturing, inventory, labor, and overhead costs. Support the budgeting, forecasting, and planning efforts for operations and production departments. Work closely with operations managers to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and suggest cost-saving initiatives. Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful recommendations to management. Collaborate with teams to develop detailed costing methodologies to inform and educate stakeholders. Prepare unit costing analyses and present findings to management to facilitate sound business decisions. Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and internal controls. Assist in evaluating capital expenditures and conducting ROI assessments for equipment or process enhancements. Partner with IT teams to gather and organize data from various sources for effective reporting, and automate processes where possible. Support purchase order and budget reviews, while monitoring capital expenditures and asset management. Provide general accounting support activities as required. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant certification is a plus. 2-4 years of experience in financial analysis. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and ERP systems. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration with production and operations teams. Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Understanding of manufacturing processes, cost accounting, and supply chain principles. Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI). Preferred Qualifications: Experience in financial analysis within an operations or production setting. Familiarity with data analysis tools and financial reporting software. CPA, CMA or similar certifications. Cost accounting experience. Physical Requirements and Work Environment: This position is based in Minnesota, allowing for some work-from-home flexibility and occasional out-of-state travel.
