Evaluate patients' conditions before, during, and after dialysis, diligently monitoring vital signs and reactions to treatment. Administer prescribed dialysis treatments, medications, and fluid therapy in accordance with physician orders. Educate patients and their families on dialysis processes, medication protocols, and dietary considerations. Expertly operate and maintain dialysis equipment, ensuring proper setup and sterilization. Collaborate effectively with nephrologists, dietitians, and social workers to create and execute patient-centered care plans. Document patient care and treatment progress accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Respond rapidly to any adverse reactions or complications during dialysis sessions. Adhere to strict infection control policies and safety protocols to ensure a secure treatment environment. Provide compassionate emotional support to patients managing chronic kidney disease. Mentor and train new staff or dialysis technicians as needed. Engage in quality improvement initiatives and comply with all relevant state and federal regulations regarding dialysis care. Job Requirements Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a dialysis nurse Graduate from an accredited nursing program Current and valid state-specific RN license or compact state RN license BLS certification required (applicable for Chronic and Acute settings) ACLS certification required (for Acute setting only)
