Overview of Your Role: The SACC Site Leader is key in leading and supervising a team of SACC Youth Development Professionals while serving students at assigned Albany or Troy Elementary School sites or BGCCA Clubhouse. This role involves planning, coordinating, and delivering comprehensive after-school programs that comply with the Office of Children and Family Services' standards. Additionally, you'll develop and implement engaging enrichment activities focusing on academic success, character development, and healthy lifestyles. Key Job Responsibilities: The following non-exhaustive list of job duties is required for this position: Leadership & Supervision: Oversee, support, and manage all staff; conducting weekly meetings, providing training, and maintaining records. Communicate effectively with all parties involved in programming, ensuring seamless operations. Coach and train SACC Youth Development Professionals for their success. Conduct orientation and training for newly employed SACC Youth Development Professionals. Participate in hiring and supervising SACC YDP professionals. Conduct quarterly and annual performance evaluations for SACC YDPs. Program & Service Management: Contribute to developing new programs and curricula to enhance existing offerings within BGCCA. Adhere to BGCCA SACC curriculum for program consistency across all sites. Maintain accurate records of participant registration, attendance, and DSS submissions. Communicate with parents of students to maintain open lines of contact. Market after-school programs to students and families. Collect and report daily attendance and submit meal counts. Create informative parent newsletters. Plan and facilitate monthly family engagement events. Notify parents and families about the program details. Assist in marketing efforts directed at school-based participants. Complete and ensure accurate payroll records daily, following payroll procedures and deadlines. Communicate with the development team regarding specific grant requirements. Submit all required grant reports promptly. Resource Management & Planning: Participate in site meetings with the SACC Program Manager to ensure compliance and program success. Submit programming schedules for approval. Develop and utilize daily lesson plans. Ensure program rooms are cleaned, and checklists are signed at the end of each day. Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with grant requirements. Safeguard the health and safety of students and staff, creating health plans for children as needed and being proficient in first aid. Complete all required training. Relationships: Internal: Maintain close contact with SACC Youth Development Professionals, the SACC Program Manager, and other Supervisors. External: Keep open communication with parents, Food Services, development teams, Community Partners, and transportation services to support daily programming. CREDENTIALS, SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Education and Experience: Preferred: Bachelor's or Associate's degree in education, youth development, or a related field. Minimum: Two (2) years of direct experience working with children under the age of 13. Required: 1-2 years of supervisory experience in a childcare program or a related field. Required Certifications: NYS Children's Program Administrator credentials (and/or) School Age Child Care Credential (or another recognized credential for school-age children) Background check clearance CPR and First Aid Training (with the ability to obtain) ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Required Skills/Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Group leadership skills with an understanding of group dynamics. Knowledge of program regulations and standards. Experience in budget management and record-keeping. Understanding of youth development principles for ages 4 to 13. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to perform well in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment. Must pass a comprehensive check, including fingerprinting and child abuse clearance as mandated by BGCCA. Work Environment: Fast-paced school or clubhouse environment, actively engaging with children aged 4-13. The setting involves varying noise levels typical of after-school programming activities. Travel Required: Local travel between assigned sites as needed for meetings and training. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, sit, and move around for extended periods. Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds. Fine motor coordination for computer work and administrative tasks. Regular verbal communication with children, staff, and parents.
