Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Clinical Oncology RN, LPN, or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region. This full-time, on-site role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality care to a diverse patient population across multiple specialties. Responsibilities Perform duties within the scope of practice and clinic policies. Assess and document patients' physical, psychological, and social conditions. Ensure pre-authorizations and consent forms are obtained before therapy administration. Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records, including symptom management, lab results, treatment plans, and medication administration records. Establish treatment priorities based on medical and nursing diagnoses. Document nursing interventions and patient responses. Plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines efficiently. Ensure accurate billing procedures. Prepare for and assist with office procedures. Administer medications as directed and document any adverse effects. Perform procedures such as injections, immunizations, phlebotomy, tympanograms, EKGs, and vision screenings. Make referrals to other providers and facilities as needed. Manage phone communications promptly and professionally. Report test results to patients following provider instructions. Use the Electronic Medical Record system according to established guidelines. Monitor medication sample closets for expiration dates. Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills to resolve patient issues effectively. Education and Certification Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with current CMA certification, or Graduate of an accredited nursing school with current RN or LPN licensure valid in the region. Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferred; if not currently certified, must obtain within 3 years of hire. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association. Experience and Skills Minimum of 3 years healthcare experience preferred. Familiarity with Joint Commission regulations and oncology standards. Experience with Epic Electronic Health Records preferred. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and work independently. Strong attention to detail, creativity, and a positive attitude. Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to calm and support distressed patients and families.
