Applied Chiller Service Technician

Snapshot / Role Overview We're looking for an experienced Applied Chiller Service Technician in San Diego, CA to tackle the tough stuff-servicing and repairing commercial chillers and applied HVAC systems. Impact Keep critical systems cool, efficient, and reliable Solve complex problems before they become downtime Bring hands-on expertise to chillers and applied equipment Be the go-to expert clients trust when it matters most Responsibilities Service and repair air-cooled, water-cooled, screw, centrifugal, and magnetic bearing chillers Diagnose issues, perform teardowns, and handle rebuilds Support startups, commissioning, and preventative maintenance Communicate clearly with customers and document work Follow safety protocols and manufacturer specs Requirements Must-Haves 12+ years in commercial mechanical HVAC 5+ years hands-on with applied systems and chillers Strong experience with screw and centrifugal units Local to San Diego with a solid work history Confident troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Nice-to-Haves Factory training or OEM certifications (Trane, Carrier, York, etc.) Centrifugal teardown experience EPA Universal, OSHA 10/30 Bonus: BAS or controls knowledge Compensation & Logistics Top hourly pay, great benefits (health, PTO, holidays), and steady work with a solid team.
