Paint Line Machine Operator

Job description: Pay Rate: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour (based on experience) Schedule: Full-time | Day and Night Shifts Available | Overtime as needed Position Overview BSW Group is seeking a skilled and reliable Paint Line Machine Operator to join our client's manufacturing facility in Adairsville, GA. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining an automated powder coating system for structural steel components. The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail, experience in an industrial setting, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. Responsibilities Production Operations Operate automated paint line equipment to apply powder coatings to structural steel beams. Verify paint color, finish, and coating thickness match job specifications, safely collect, label, and dispose of leftover powder materials. Manage the pre-treatment process, including degreasing and rinsing cycles, monitor and adjust drying and curing ovens to maintain consistent results. Complete hourly thickness checks and visual inspections for defects. Plan and execute color changes efficiently (typically 1-2 per shift). Clean paint booths, guns, tanks, and filters between color runs, refill powder bins, and manage inventory to prevent waste. Quality & Documentation Complete production and quality records accurately. Follow all documented procedures available in SharePoint. Record production orders and data in SAP. Maintain logs for temperature, powder usage, and bath readings. Equipment Care & Safety Perform basic preventive maintenance and report equipment issues. Inspect and clean filters, pumps, and spray equipment regularly. Maintain housekeeping standards according to 5S guidelines. Follow all PPE requirements, including safety glasses, masks, gloves, and ear protection. Qualifications Prior experience operating a paint line or industrial coating system preferred. Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to measure coating thickness and check pH or temperature readings. Understanding of industrial safety standards (ATEX awareness a plus). Strong teamwork and communication skills. Must be able to work in a warm, fast-paced manufacturing environment. Work Environment Indoor production setting with exposure to heat, noise, and various industrial materials.
