Job Description Assess individuals across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations with a variety of standardized assessments and through observations. Create tailored treatment plans that address both immediate and longer-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs. Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions concentrating on communication skills, language development, fluency, voice, and swallowing abilities. Collaborate intimately with occupational therapists, physical therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop comprehensive care plans. Engage patients and their families to ensure effective strategies for continued progress outside of clinical appointments. Perform occasional inpatient evaluations and therapeutic interventions to ensure a seamless continuum of care. Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations. Engage in ongoing professional development and collaboration with peers to stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field. Education Requirements A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending. Certifications Needed State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary within the first 30 days of employment. Skills Required Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based practices for patients of all ages, with a deep understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Capability to modify therapy strategies to accommodate distinct cultural and linguistic needs. Demonstrated clinical judgment and problem-solving aptitude.
