JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS Job Summary: The Clinical Dietitian operates under the direct supervision of the Clinical Nutrition Manager. The Clinical Dietitian coordinates the nutritional aspects of patient care in a wide variety of inpatient settings. The Clinical Dietitian collaborates with other hospital services as appropriate to implement the nutrition care plan. The Clinical Dietitian serves as a resource for promoting nutrition education within the organization. Education: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Nutritional Science or a related field from an accredited college or university and successful completion of an accredited dietetics program through the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Registration/Certification/Licensure: Maryland State licensure as a Dietitian/Nutritionist is required. Credentialed Registered Dietitian by the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR) is required. Experience: Position requires 1-2 years of experience as a dietitian/nutritionist; one year experience as a clinical dietitian in an acute care facility is preferred. Recent graduates will be considered but must be registered and licensed in the State of Maryland. Other Requirements: Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
