Position Type: Student Support Services/Speech and Language Pathologist Date Posted: 7/1/2025 Location: Richton Park Date Available: 08/07/2025 Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist Reports To: Director of Special Education Location: Southland College Prep Charter High School Position Overview: Southland College Prep Charter High School is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting student communication and academic success through evidence-based assessment, therapy, and collaboration. Qualifications: Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Endorsement Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience working collaboratively in student-centered environments Essential Responsibilities: Assess students' communication skills (e.g., articulation, fluency, voice, language) to identify disorders and determine eligibility for services Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in accordance with IEPs and regulatory guidelines Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school teams to support student progress and ensure service compliance Conduct and facilitate IEP meetings, screenings, evaluations, and parent conferences Provide direct speech and language therapy to students to reduce barriers to learning Train students in the use of communication technologies (e.g., augmentative devices, FM systems) Maintain accurate documentation including therapy notes, progress reports, and compliance records Participate in ongoing professional development and school-based meetings Comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as Southland College Prep policies Professional Responsibilities: Make decisions that support the mission and vision of Southland College Prep Utilize local, state, and national resources to promote student safety and welfare Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for students and staff, including interns and volunteers Perform additional duties as assigned Skills and Competencies: Ability to read, interpret, and analyze documents and reports Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships Clear and effective verbal and written communication Ability to present information and respond to questions in a professional setting Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Southland College Prep Charter High School guidelines Southland College Prep Charter High School is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
