What You'll Do: You will conduct inspections and ensure quality assurance on highway and roadway construction projects. Your responsibility will include verifying that completed work aligns with established plans and specifications. You’ll work closely with the contractor and various public utility agencies to ensure project coordination. Maintain thorough records and reports associated with the project to keep all stakeholders informed. Engage with the general contractor to facilitate smooth operations. You’ll be involved in negotiating change orders as necessary. Assist in inspections to verify compliance with contract plans and specifications. Help prepare necessary documentation, including contract change orders, estimates, progress pay estimates, and project reports. Coordinate material sampling and testing to ensure adherence to contract specifications. Monitor contractor progress and provide regular updates. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required. Work onsite at client locations to foster strong relationships and ensure effective project delivery. Compensation: $126,000 - $150,000 per year, with variations based on office location, role, skill set, and experience. What's Required: A degree from a four-year ABET-accredited civil engineering program, or valid EIT certification as a substitute. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in roadway construction inspection for highways or major public works projects. OR A Master's or Doctorate degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program. Two (2) years’ experience in roadway construction inspection for highways or major public works projects. Bonus Points: Familiarity with Caltrans standards. Understanding of the physical characteristics and properties of construction materials like concrete and steel.
