GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE The Guest Experience Leader (GEL) plays a crucial role in embodying Ulta Beauty's mission, vision, and values. This position is responsible for cultivating a high-performing team to drive retail and service sales growth. The GEL leads a diverse group of stylists, estheticians, guest coordinators, and sales managers, ensuring a superb guest experience across all service offerings, including salons, boutiques, and makeup. The Guest Experience Leader will focus on three key areas: Performance (including sales growth and guest satisfaction), People (developing team culture), and Process (ensuring operational excellence). PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The GEL is expected to manifest Ulta Beauty's values through a variety of essential functions: Foster a culture of accountability to achieve store goals in services, sales, and guest loyalty. Drive profitability through operational excellence and sales growth. Support and communicate scheduling needs with the General Manager to maximize productivity and sales goals. Address underperforming metrics through strategic development and resource utilization. Engage in makeup applications and product demonstrations to enhance guest experiences. Stay updated on beauty trends and products to better serve guests. Uphold consistent attendance and accountability among team members. People Recruit and retain a diverse team, utilizing various channels to fill store needs. Cultivate an engaged and collaborative team culture that embodies the Ulta Beauty brand. Create an inclusive environment that promotes growth and engagement. Provide comprehensive training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members. Encourage participation in ongoing training to drive continuous professional development. Model teamwork and guest service excellence through active leadership and collaboration. Process Ensure compliance with all company policies and standards. Utilize scheduling tools effectively to manage staff assignments and attendance. Manage store workload through task prioritization and execution. Implement inventory control processes and reduce loss through adherence to safety and operational practices. Communicate regularly with leadership regarding store business trends and needs. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education Preferred: Bachelor's degree Cosmetology license required by state law Experience 2-3+ years of relevant retail management experience Proven success in financial management and sales growth Strong knowledge of cosmetology services and regulatory requirements Experience in managing inventory and driving operational success Demonstrated leadership skills in team development and motivation Skills Proficient with technology used in retail environments Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities Adept at handling pressure and making decisions in dynamic situations SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS Flexible availability including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays Participation in corporate meetings and events WORKING CONDITIONS Mobility throughout the store during shifts Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and lifting items up to 25 lbs. The pay range for this role is $28.50 - $35.00 per hour, with potential additional compensation through our bonus plan.
