Job Summary: The Field Service Technician (NETA Level 2) conducts essential electrical inspections, tests, and measurements and is responsible for thorough data collection. The role entails setting up and removing test equipment, performing basic acceptance and maintenance testing, and maintaining cleanliness. The technician must be familiar with hazardous electrical energy procedures and will operate with limited supervision. Supervisory Responsibilities: Can co-lead projects alongside team members, sharing responsibilities with lead technicians to ensure project success from initiation to completion, including final reporting to the client. Duties/Responsibilities: Acceptance and Maintenance Electrical Testing Perform acceptance and maintenance electrical testing under minimal supervision. Test for de-energized locked out/tagged out equipment. Collect and record test data accurately. Test Equipment Assist with the setup and removal of test equipment for various testing activities. Handle and store equipment appropriately. Maintain cleanliness of test equipment and work areas. Ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition. Report Writing Create detailed reports on test results and findings. Ensure reports are accurate and submitted promptly. Basic Measurements Perform basic electrical measurements under the supervision of senior technicians. Accurately record and report measurement data. Additional responsibilities and tasks may be assigned to support organizational goals and adapt to evolving business needs. Attributes/Abilities: Must have a satisfactory background/MVR check. Must pass a pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and/or random drug test. Reliable transportation and valid driver's license are required. Basic understanding of electrical theory. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Exemplary verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and exceptional attention to detail. Experience and Education: High school diploma/GED required; Associate's degree from an accredited 2-year technical college or trade school preferred. NETA certification level 2 preferred. 2+ years of relevant experience. OSHA 30-hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED, and Power DB training are beneficial. Physical Requirements: Ability to travel up to 50% of the time. Willingness to work occasional overtime as needed. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including arc-flash suit, safety glasses, hard hat, respirator, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots. Ability to walk, stand, climb, pull, push, sit, and work in cramped or confined spaces. Potential exposure to varied conditions, including dirt, heat, fumes, smoke, water, noise, vibration, grease, oil, and dust.
