Job Description

Reports to: General Manager (GM) / Assistant Manager (AM) Department: Club Operations Duties and Responsibilities: Assist the GM and AM in developing strategies to attract and retain members aligned with our Excel Core Values. Help onboard new Team Players and serve as a resource by providing accurate answers, modeling desired behaviors, and training on operational processes. Utilize the Team Performance Tracker to achieve company metrics. Supervise and motivate Team Players to perform at their highest potential. Ensure a high standard of member service, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere. Identify training needs to ensure Team Players meet Excel standards and report findings to management. Conduct regular audits to maintain the club's presentation and uphold Excel Standards. Ensure adherence to company policies and address minor infractions; report major infractions to management. Perform daily club inspections and assign cleaning or related tasks, followed by re-inspections. Hold Team Players accountable for maintaining company standards, review daily paperwork, and address any member issues as they arise. Audit inventory levels and communicate recommendations for inventory orders to the GM and AM. May oversee club operations and manage scheduled Team Players in the absence of the GM or AM. Stay updated and proficient in all PFHQ and Excel platforms, programs, and updates. Assist GM and represent the company at community events and outreach activities. Qualification: Must be at least 18 years of age. High School Diploma or equivalent required. CPR/AED certification required; uncertified Team Players must complete training within the first 30 days of employment. Comfortable standing for extended periods. Proven leadership abilities, encouraging, developing, and supervising a team. Excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers. Team-oriented, motivated, and well-organized. Critical thinking skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Familiarity with Excel's mission, values, vision, culture, and operational requirements. Supervisory Responsibility: This role will supervise up to 6 Team Players during assigned shifts, ensuring the team exemplifies and maintains all Excel values, principles, and performance metrics. Work Environment: This position operates within a fitness club, utilizing standard office equipment (computers, printers, phones) and custodial equipment (cleaning chemicals, floor scrubber, vacuum). Expect a generally loud environment. Physical Demands: The following physical demands are required to successfully perform this job: Regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands for dexterity, and reach. Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distant, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, nonexempt position, entitled to minimum wage and/or overtime pay under the FLSA. Scheduled work hours may vary between 30-40 hours per week based on business needs, primarily during early morning or late afternoon shifts (8 AM to 10 PM) or weekends (7 AM to 7 PM). Flexibility may be required, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight shifts. Work hours are subject to change based on operational needs.
