What is an Automotive Parts Specialist? This professional sales role plays a crucial part in enhancing the DIY customer experience. With expert knowledge of store systems and an advanced understanding of automotive parts and systems, you will assist DIY customers in troubleshooting, project assistance, and sourcing parts from various avenues. Your understanding of store inventory and maintenance processes will be invaluable in this full-time position. Primary Responsibilities Deliver a positive customer experience for DIY customers through visits and calls. Meet personal and store sales goals while providing excellent service. Manage DIY services including battery installations, testing, wiper installations, and more. Maintain high standards of customer service and store appearance. Perform key holder responsibilities, including task management and safety protocols. Secondary Responsibilities Support store inventory processes, such as truck put away and cycle counts. Ensure cleanliness throughout the store, including in key areas like bathrooms and parking lots. Assist with providing DIY services as needed. Success Factors Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Aptitude for locating and stocking parts effectively. Strong knowledge of safety practices in automotive environments. Proficiency in operating inventory and store equipment. Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment tailored for DIY services. Strong sales skills specific to the DIY market. Essential Skills for Success Knowledgeable about automotive systems and diagnostics, including engines, suspension, and brakes. Effective communication in English (Spanish an asset); able to build rapport with customers and team members. Ability to interpret safety and operating procedures as well as write simple correspondence. Proficiency in basic mathematics for accurate measurements, and comfort with Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong organizational abilities. Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings. Prior Experience 3-5 years of automotive parts experience. Demonstrated sales ability in fulfilling customer transactions. Education and Certification Valid driver's license required. ASE certification is preferred, but not mandatory. Compensation Range The estimated hourly rate for this position ranges from $18.15 to $19.96 for new team members, based on various factors such as geographic location, experience, and education.
