Job Description

Job Title: Geologist (Temporary Staff) Business Unit: FSU We are currently seeking talented Geologists to contribute to exciting federal projects with agencies such as the EPA, USACE, and DOE. This role provides the opportunity to conduct field investigations and play a crucial part in overseeing drilling operations while collecting vital geologic and environmental data. We emphasize quality data collection and project compliance. Key Responsibilities: Plan and execute thorough geologic and environmental investigations. Conduct drilling and logging activities for various project complexities. Log soil and rock cores, preparing detailed boring logs in accordance with ASTM and USCS standards. Collect and manage environmental and geotechnical samples for laboratory testing. Install and maintain groundwater monitoring wells and related instrumentation. Create comprehensive technical field notes, logs, and relevant documentation. Participate in project progress meetings. Perform additional tasks as assigned to support project needs. Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field. At least 5 years of practical experience related to geology or environmental science. Equivalent additional experience may substitute for a formal degree. Willingness to travel as required, with frequency dependent on project demands. Preferred Qualifications: Professional Geologist (PG) License. Familiarity with the Unified Soil Classification System. Up-to-date 40-hour OSHA Hazwoper certification and annual refresher training. Completion of an 8-hour supervisory training program. 30-hour OSHA Construction Industry safety class certification. Current CPR/FA/AED certification.
