Job Description: As a Disaster Recovery Engineering Expert, you will be crucial in supporting recovery efforts in the aftermath of disasters. Your primary responsibilities will include: Conducting comprehensive site inspections to evaluate and document infrastructure damage, ensuring to capture photographs, create precise site sketches, and offer detailed damage descriptions. Developing and reviewing scopes of work alongside cost estimates that comply with current codes and standards. Analyzing engineering reports, designs, and as-built plans to guarantee compliance and accuracy. Making informed recommendations regarding claim eligibility and reviewing hazard mitigation proposals for effectiveness. Collaborating with applicants to prioritize recovery projects, facilitating meetings throughout the process, and clearly communicating final decisions. Providing analytical updates and engaging in status meetings with agency representatives to ensure alignment. Identifying and coordinating with additional technical specialists as needed to enhance recovery efforts. Completing inspections to support the FEMA Public Assistance grant delivery process effectively. Taking on other relevant duties as necessary to advance our mission. Location: The position requires travel across the United States. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering. 5 years of relevant field experience or 2 years of specialized expertise along with professional registration. Willingness to travel as needed for inspections and project oversight.
