As a leader in pediatric therapy, we provide a purpose-driven environment where your skills and compassion truly make a difference.ResponsibilitiesPediatric Occupational Therapist leads and manages the application of occupational therapy theory and practice in alignment with organizational principles and patient needs. Collaborates with and educates patients, physicians, families, caregivers and all other customers who have an expectation of the occupational therapy service. Serves as a patient and rehabilitation advocate for current and prospective patients, to all internal and external customers. Participates in quality improvement and customer service activities. Provides patient care, including evaluation and treatment, treatment planning, goal setting, education and documentation. Directs and supervises the work of OT assistants, rehab techs and students. Follows all organizational safety policies and procedures regarding one's personal protection and patient safety. Develops self professionally. Supports and participates in clinic operations and development. Provides supervision to OT assistants and provides 100% supervision to rehab tech in compliance with clinic, state and federal guidelines and requirements. Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Proficient in clinical skills in chosen field in evaluation and treatment Ability to supervise and direct therapy assistants, aides and/or student interns Actively involved in professional development Ability to independently identify problems and initiate appropriate actions Ability to clearly express self in written form for documentation Ability to communicate clearly to staff, patient, families, physicians, case managers, and payor Ability to remain calm and professional when patients, family and/or staff are angry/frustrated Knowledge of patient rights and confidentiality Knowledge of reimbursement/payor source issues – Worker’s Compensation, Medicare, Managed Care Experience: Prefer a minimum of 1-2 years clinical experience in an outpatient setting, working with pediatric population, in areas including: Fine-Motor Skill Development Gross-Motor Skill Development/Coordination Visual-Motor Integration Sensory Processing OCCUPATIONAL Requirements: Manual dexterity to mobilize joints and perform deep tissue massage daily. Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds. Regularly transfers patients to all surfaces. Frequently bends, stoops, kneels, and reaches during patient treatment and preparation time. Ability to sit regularly at charting desk or computer terminal to complete documentation. Ability to perform CPR if necessary.
