Position Type: Teachers and Other Certified Date Posted: 6/25/2025 Location: Exceptional Education Department Date Available: TBD Closing Date: Until filled Job Title: Physical Therapist Division: Exceptional Education CPI Code: 482 Salary Schedule: Teacher Salary Scale Eff Date: 06/25/2025 FLSA: Exempt Reports to: Executive Director of Exceptional Student Education Supervises: N/A Work Days: 190 Qualifications: Graduate of accredited school of Physical Therapy Licensed to practice in the state of Georgia Ability to evaluate a student within the school environment Knowledge of normal child development and the effects of injury or disease Ability to develop treatment plans appropriate for the school setting Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills Performance Duties & Responsibilities: Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance Provide support to the special education teacher in meeting the student's IEP goals Evaluate students' gross motor abilities Plan therapy program to address goals Participate in IEP meetings Provide consultative, collaborative and/or direct therapy services Select and provide appropriate equipment to enhance the student's day at school Instruct school staff and/or family in activities to work toward attaining IEP goals Train school staff on techniques of lifting, positioning, equipment use and safety Maintain appropriate documentation and records Perform other tasks and duties as assigned Other Functions: Daily attendance and punctuality are required to ensure the goals of the work unit are met. Working Environment: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally, the job requires 65% walking/standing, 25% sitting and 10% lifting/carrying.
