What You'll Be Doing Inspire and educate team members and management on shrink awareness, effective theft prevention techniques, and exemplary customer service standards. Work closely with Store and Asset Protection leaders to identify theft patterns and devise impactful action plans to bolster awareness initiatives. Provide superior customer service and ensure team members have the tools they need to deliver outstanding experiences. Ensure a safe, clean, and secure store by actively observing entrances, exits, and areas with higher theft risk. Utilize surveillance equipment, reporting tools, and exception-based monitoring to identify theft, fraud, and policy infractions. Conduct external theft apprehensions and interviews, following all legal requirements and company protocols. Investigate and document instances of criminal activity, maintain thorough case files, and collaborate with law enforcement and in legal cases. Assist in internal investigations, providing necessary evidence when needed. Evaluate store security measures, such as locks and alarms, and promptly respond to EAS alerts and emergency situations. Offer actionable feedback on audit results and collaborate with others to decrease shrink and operational risks. Respond calmly and effectively to potentially violent situations while prioritizing safety. This role may include additional responsibilities based on business demands. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma with 1-2 years of relevant experience (e.g., security, retail investigations, loss prevention). Ability to remain standing or seated and perform job duties for extended periods. Capability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds without assistance, with the potential to lift more based on circumstances. Typically scheduled for 40 hours per week; additional hours may be required based on business needs. Availability for morning, afternoon, and evening shifts throughout the week. Must obtain a salesperson license within sixty (60) days of employment if mandated by state or local law. Completion of a national certified training program (e.g., Wicklander-Zuwalski or Reed training). Professional certification (e.g., APQ, APC) or comparable experience. Preferred Skills/Education Associate degree in Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field. 1-2 years of experience in administering retail investigations. 1-2 years of experience in utilizing physical security systems (CCTV, EAS). Experience in investigating organized crime and asset protection incidents.
