Director of Underwriting - Contract Surety

This role, which allows for remote work, requires someone experienced in Surety lines of business and involves approximately 20-25% travel. Whether you join us as an Executive Underwriter or as an AVP, your experience will guide us in enhancing our underwriting practices and customer relationships. Your key responsibilities will include: Producing and underwriting new and renewal Surety business. Managing a large portfolio of significant accounts. Supporting cross-selling efforts within Zurich North America. Executing external marketing strategies effectively. Adhering to underwriting rules, regulations, and best practices. Building and maintaining relationships with agencies and brokers. Handling assignments of varying complexity under established guidelines. Qualifications: Executive Underwriter: High School Diploma or equivalent plus 5 years of relevant experience OR 10 years of experience in claims or underwriting support OR Zurich approved Apprenticeship with an Associate degree and 3 years of relevant experience. AVP, Underwriting Director: High School Diploma or equivalent plus 7 years of relevant experience OR 14 years of experience in the claims or underwriting support OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate degree and 5 years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree. Established relationships with brokers. A sales execution mindset. Creative problem-solving abilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Your compensation at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience, with a pay range of $98,500.00-$215,000.00 depending on your position (Executive Underwriter or AVP, Underwriting Director) and eligibility for bonuses.
