Job Description

The Financial Performance Analyst will play a crucial role in enhancing the financial outcomes across our store network. This position is dedicated to analyzing store Profit and Loss statements (P&L), tracking expense drivers, modeling cost-saving initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement strategies and system improvements that optimize profitability while maintaining an exceptional customer experience. Key Responsibilities Analyze financial data at the store level (P&L, petty cash, shrink, supplies, etc.) to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for reducing expenses. Develop and maintain dashboards and models to monitor cost metrics and evaluate the return on investment for expense-related initiatives. Collaborate with store leadership, finance, accounting, loss prevention, and other operational teams to spearhead initiatives aimed at reducing controllable expenses and enriching profitability. Establish and oversee a budgeting and forecasting process focused on expense targets and cost control strategies. Create executive-level summaries and presentations that provide clear insights and actionable recommendations. Conduct cost benchmarking across various store formats and locations to uncover potential opportunities. Work with data teams to create unified datasets and reporting tools for monitoring and tracking expenses at the store level. Support the development of automated processes to prioritize data accuracy and consistency. Review statistical information and assess proposed policy changes to estimate fiscal impacts and related expense implications. Qualifications Required: Strong analytical and modeling skills, with proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in a dynamic environment. 2-4 years of experience in financial analysis, retail operations, or business analytics. Familiarity with SQL or other data query languages. Effective communication and presentation skills to convey complex data to leadership. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field. Experience in retail/store environments. Understanding of retail P&L structure and operational levers. Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
