Job Summary As a Senior Solutions Architect - SDDC, you will be instrumental in implementing data center infrastructure automation initiatives for our clients, paving the way for modern data centers and private cloud solutions. This role requires hands-on involvement in low-level design, enterprise infrastructure deployment, and seamless integration with existing systems. Additionally, you will take on a mentoring role for other consultants within the team. This position allows for remote work, with home office setup established by SHI management. Key Responsibilities Execute low-level design and implementation tasks, which may include architecture analysis, design, system migration, and systems engineering. Design and implement: VMware VCF (VMware Cloud Foundation), both Brownfield and Greenfield environments. VMware VCF (Aria) Automation solutions. Infrastructure automation and IaC technologies including SaltStack, Terraform, or Ansible. Proficiency in scripting with PowerShell, PowerCLI, and JavaScript. Manage server virtualization and operations. Implement vSAN, storage solutions, and SAN technologies. Develop disaster recovery strategies. Utilize VMware NSX for virtual networking solutions. Implement backup and ransomware resiliency measures. Integrate hyperconverged solutions. Serve as the technical lead on projects, ensuring accountability for outcomes. Collaborate with sales and presales teams to identify professional services opportunities through client discovery and scoping meetings. Provide configuration and upgrade services within customer environments. Mentor and guide fellow architects and consultants within the team. Engage in pre-sales conversations and participate in the design and planning stages of service engagements. Stay informed on current industry trends and offerings. Offer technical leadership in pre-sales and post-sales capacities to facilitate customer understanding, evaluation, and adoption of solutions. Demonstrate long-term vision related to our Infrastructure practice and client engagements. Expertise in designing, building, and maintaining robust systems leveraging infrastructure. Proficiency in writing, debugging, and maintaining code to automate tasks and create software solutions. Deep understanding of managing infrastructure components and using orchestration tools for technical solutions. Experience in developing detailed Statements of Work (SOWs) and driving revenue through professional services. Extensive experience on large-scale IT projects related to design, deployment, and configuration. Additional Qualifications Strong troubleshooting skills and analytical capabilities. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. Strong organizational and project management skills. Effective consultative approach to enterprise architecture deployment. Relevant certifications such as VCIX, VCAP, VCP, VCDX, CCIE, VMCE are preferred. Other Requirements A completed Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience. A minimum of 7 years in solutions architecture or working with server infrastructure (blade chassis, servers, hypervisors, storage). 10 years or more of experience with VMware and associated products in enterprise settings. 8 - 10+ years of progressively responsible technical experience. Willingness to travel occasionally. In-depth knowledge of virtualization technologies and software-defined data centers. The base salary for this position ranges from $150,000 to $200,000, with estimated on-target earnings (OTE) including base salary and bonuses/commissions ranging from $180,000 to $220,000. Compensation is based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. Benefits may encompass medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending options.
