APTA Licensed Physical Therapist - Outpatient

Act as a vital link between patients, families, physicians, nursing staff, and social services to ensure coordinated and compassionate physical therapy services. Essential Responsibilities: Utilize clinical expertise and sound judgment to care for patients across all age groups, from pediatric to geriatric, ensuring high-quality treatment plans and patient education. Operate therapeutic equipment such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, mechanical traction, and wound care devices. Guide patients in the use of assistive devices, braces, orthotics, prosthetics, and exercise equipment. Lead mobility, strengthening, muscle reeducation, gait training, and activities of daily living exercises. Adapt therapy techniques for patients with cognitive or physical limitations to maximize treatment effectiveness. Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with healthcare accreditation standards and departmental policies. Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives, including peer review and patient care evaluations. Foster excellent communication and customer service with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Supervise aides, students, and volunteers as needed. Support departmental functions and contribute to staff education and professional development. Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited Physical, Occupational, or Speech Therapy program recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association or equivalent bodies. A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree is required. Commitment to ongoing professional education and active participation in relevant professional associations is expected. Licensure and Certifications: Must hold or be eligible for licensure in the applicable state. Current CPR certification is required. This position offers a full-time schedule with day shifts in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
