About the Team/Role The Travel Rule relates to a global regulation requiring Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) to share customer information for crypto transactions above specific thresholds. Coinbase operates TRUST (Travel Rule Universal Solution Technology), the leading Travel Rule solution globally, collaborating with over 100 VASP members, including major exchanges. As the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for the Travel Rule, you will oversee the Travel Rule Platform, including APIs and backend infrastructure, and work closely with Consumer and Institutional Product Groups on their respective front-end experiences. You will also drive efforts to enhance TRUST's competitive edge against rivals like Notabene and Sumsub. Key Responsibilities: Lead the company-wide Travel Rule strategy and execution as the DRI, collaborating with Consumer and Institutional Product Groups on front-end integrations. Expand TRUST's market position by acquiring new VASPs, increasing network and asset support, and spearheading go-to-market initiatives. Manage the Travel Rule Platform APIs and backend infrastructure for use by Consumer and Institutional teams. Support international expansion by accommodating new entities and jurisdiction-specific requirements (e.g., India, EU, UK). Enhance TRUST's privacy and security framework to maintain Coinbase's reputation as the 'Most Trusted' platform. Ensure program health and stakeholder alignment across a complex, multi-product group environment. Qualifications: 5+ years of product management experience. Proven experience in developing platform or API products that are utilized by other teams. Proficient in driving cross-functional collaboration among diverse stakeholders without direct ownership of the end-user experience. Experience in compliance, regulatory, or risk products within fintech or financial services. Strong analytical skills with a track record of defining success metrics. Business development or partnership experience is preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in crypto, blockchain, or AML/KYC regulations. Background with open source or industry-wide protocols and standards. Experience operating with international teams across different time zones. Knowledge of payment networks or platforms. Experience with self-custody wallets or stablecoins. Job Reference: P69685 Pay Transparency Notice: The target annual base salary for this position varies based on your location and experience, falling within the range of $180,370 - $212,000 USD. Full-time offers from Coinbase also include eligibility for bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
