Job Description Join the dynamic team at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), where we are shaping the future of cloud technology for enterprises. The OCI Speech Science team is at the forefront of AI-driven speech innovations, focusing on cutting-edge solutions such as Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Text-To-Speech (TTS), Speech-To-Speech (S2S) translation, and conversational AI. Our goal is to provide robust, secure, and scalable speech and language services tailored for enterprise applications globally. As a member of the OCI Generative AI Science team, you will collaborate with applied scientists, engineers, and product managers to design and implement industry-leading speech solutions on OCI. You will be instrumental in defining OCI’s Speech AI strategy by creating and deploying enterprise-grade services that prioritize customer satisfaction while safeguarding their data. We are looking for an outstanding applied scientist to spearhead research and drive innovation in ASR, TTS, S2S translation, and conversational AI. In the role of Lead Senior Applied Scientist, you will play a critical role in researching, developing, and deploying advanced AI models that cater to real-world applications across various industries. Responsibilities Research and Development: Lead pioneering research efforts in ASR, TTS, S2S translation, and conversational AI. Assess model architectures, data sources, and algorithms to advance our speech technologies. Model Development: Design, train, and optimize large-scale deep learning models for speech recognition, synthesis, and translation. Deliver top-tier performance and reliability to our enterprise customers. Team Leadership: Mentor a team of scientists and engineers to cultivate an inclusive and innovative work environment that inspires creative solutions in speech and language processing. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with software engineers, product managers, and UX teams to seamlessly integrate ASR, TTS, S2S, and conversational AI features into OCI's cloud-native products and services. Customer-Centric Solutions: Grasp enterprise needs and deliver tailored speech and conversational AI solutions that meet complex use cases with the utmost quality and trust. Technology Evangelism: Identify and promote new opportunities for voice and speech AI across Oracle's products. Advocate for best practices in responsible AI and data security. Continuous Learning: Stay informed on industry trends, research breakthroughs, and advancements in AI/ML methodologies relevant to speech and conversational AI. Qualifications & Experience A PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Linguistics, or a related field, with a focus on machine learning or deep learning and at least 10 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree in one of the aforementioned fields, with 12+ years of relevant experience. A strong publication record, including as a lead author in prestigious conferences or journals. Extensive background in ASR, TTS, S2S translation, conversational AI, NLP, and deep learning. A proven track record of leading successful research and development projects. In-depth understanding of machine learning algorithms and architectures. Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities. Outstanding leadership and communication skills.
