About The Role & Team The Product & Data Engineering team is at the forefront of creating world-class, consumer-facing products, including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and various digital experiences. We drive large-scale innovation for millions worldwide, emphasizing core user experiences like personalization, search, messaging, and analytics. Design and develop high-performance data architectures for both operational and analytical purposes. Lead the integration of new data management technologies and software tools within existing systems. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including product management, software engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders to ensure architectural alignment with business objectives. Ensure adherence to data security, privacy, and regulatory standards in line with company policies. Innovate data processing and analytics by exploring emerging technologies. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the data architecture platform team. Manage documentation and communication of architectural designs and standards. Basic Qualifications Over 10 years of experience in data architecture, engineering, or a similar field. Proficiency in cloud-based data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka). Expertise in MPP and SaaS Data Products like Snowflake or Redshift. Strong foundation in database design, SQL, and data warehousing principles. Proven ability to lead complex projects and cross-functional teams effectively. Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience within the media or entertainment sector. Knowledge of streaming data platforms and real-time analytics. Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, and related data privacy regulations. Experience in data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration tools. Experience in establishing SDLC for implementing cost-effective large-scale data platforms from real-time and batch ingestion to analytics delivery. Understanding of various file formats (e.g., parquet, ORC) and table formats (e.g., iceberg, delta) and how they integrate with different data catalogs. Required Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Additional Information In Orlando/The Woodlands, the hiring salary range is $159,800 - $214,200 per year; in Bristol/LA/DC/Chicago, it's $167,700 - $224,900 annually; in NYC/Seattle, it's $175,800 - $235,700 per year; and in San Francisco, it's $183,700 - $246,400 per year. Actual base pay depends on internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, skills, experience, and other factors.
