House Manager Society Hill - Philadelphia A busy and warm family based in Society Hill is seeking an experienced, hands-on House Manager to oversee the daily operations of their primary residence and adjacent guest home. This is a full-time, weekend-based position offering a starting salary of $75,000+, with flexibility for a highly qualified candidate who checks all the boxes. Position Overview The family is looking for a confident, detail-oriented professional who can ensure all household operations run seamlessly. While the family currently employs a housekeeper and outside cleaners (2x per week), additional leadership and oversight are needed - particularly as the current housekeeper may require extended time off due to personal matters. This individual will serve as the point person for the home, managing delicate surfaces and specialty items, overseeing laundry and garment care, coordinating repairs, and maintaining overall organization and standards. The ideal candidate is thick-skinned, patient, able to take direction well, and comfortable working in a lively home with three children (ages 8, 6, and 2) and two dogs. Schedule Full-time 8-10 hours per day Weekend availability required (Schedule can be split into morning and evening shifts if preferred) Compensation & Benefits $75,000+ annually (flexible for the right candidate) Paid holidays 5 paid sick days 2 weeks paid vacation Property Details Primary Residence Includes: 4 bedrooms 2 full bathrooms 2 powder rooms Living room Family room Formal dining room Kitchen Garage Second Home (accessible via shared backyard): Home gym Guest bedroom Full bathroom Family room Storage basement Key Responsibilities Household Management & Oversight Ensure all house-related tasks are completed to high standards Delegate effectively to cleaners and oversee quality of work Maintain organization throughout both properties Identify and coordinate household repairs and maintenance needs Manage delicate surfaces, specialty materials, and high-end finishes Laundry & Wardrobe Care (Extremely Important) Expert-level knowledge of clothing care Understand dry clean-only items, specialty fabrics, and proper laundering techniques Maintain wardrobe organization Handle specialty pieces with discretion and care Can be trained on family preferences but must have foundational knowledge Daily Household Tasks Dishes Trash and recycling Light tidying as needed between cleaner visits Shopping & Household Inventory Grocery shopping and household supply management Maintain inventory of cleaning products and essentials Pet Care Assist with care of two dogs Prepare food according to their special diets Coordinate with dog walker as needed Ideal Candidate Profile Prior experience as a House Manager or senior-level Housekeeper in a private home Strong knowledge of luxury fabrics, specialty surfaces, and garment care Comfortable managing multiple spaces and delegating tasks Organized, proactive, and detail-driven Thick-skinned, patient, and able to take direction well Comfortable around children and pets Discreet and professional This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned household professional who thrives in a structured but active family environment and takes pride in maintaining a beautifully run home.
