Description Join Our Team as a School Age Program Director/Site Director! Hockomock Area YMCA | School's Out Program - Bellingham Public Schools If you love the energy of children and the chance to build something meaningful for kids and families, this role might be your next great adventure. We're looking for a joyful, organized, community-minded leader to guide our licensed before- and after-school program in Bellingham. This is your opportunity to create a space where children feel safe, supported, and inspired-and where staff feel valued, connected, and empowered. What You'll Get to Do Bring learning to life: Design engaging, age-appropriate activities for before/after school, early release, and enrichment days - sparking curiosity and creativity along the way. Lead with purpose: Oversee the daily rhythm of the program, support your team, and jump in with direct care when needed to keep ratios-and morale-strong. Build a welcoming community: Foster an atmosphere where every child feels included, families feel heard, and relationships with school partners grow stronger each day. Grow and support a fantastic team: Recruit, hire, train, and schedule staff-and guide them through ongoing coaching and performance evaluations. Keep things running smoothly: Ensure compliance with all EEC licensing regulations, maintain a safe and organized program space, and manage supplies and snack inventory. Communicate with heart and clarity: Connect regularly with families, school personnel, and YMCA colleagues to build trust and keep everyone in the loop. Stay organized behind the scenes: Maintain accurate attendance and documentation, complete required reports, and ensure adherence to all licensing requirements. Keep learning: At the Y and with your peers, complete at least 20 hours of professional development annually to stay inspired and grow in your role. Requirements You'll thrive in this role if you bring: A warm, reliable presence and a genuine love of working with school-age children Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills A commitment to high-quality childcare and youth development Must be at least 21 years old A solid understanding of school-age program operations EEC Site Coordinator qualification, met through one of the following pathways: Bachelor's degree in Child Development or a related field at least 6 months of experience with school-age children Bachelor's or Associate degree in any field at least 9 months of experience in a school-age setting High school diploma at least 1 year of experience working with school-age children
