Morningstar Living is currently hiring a Per diem, Occupational Therapist for our Moravian Hall Square Campus in Nazareth, PA. Shifts are on an as needed basis and there is no guarantee of specific hours. Candidates should have availability to work on both weekdays and weekends. The primary purpose of the Occupational Therapist is to organize and conduct medically prescribed occupational therapy program in skilled nursing, residential institution, outpatient clinic, or home health agency to restore function; prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part; and help the patient reach his maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of his capabilities. What will I do as an Occupational Therapist? Monitors patients/clients response to treatment and modifies treatment during sessions, as indicated, in collaboration with the Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant. Must be able to communicate effectively between department staff, patients and other departments. Documents and maintains service related records, as mandated by regulations and the Rehab Manager. Instruct family, patient and caregiver on treatment procedures to be followed at home. Assists the Therapy Manager in the implementation of new programs and treatments. Teach O.T.A students as well as others in healthcare. What do I need as an Occupational Therapist? Graduate of an AOTA (American Occupational Therapy Association), accredited OT Education Program Through knowledge of Principles and Practices of Occupational Therapy; effectiveness in assessing residents' needs and in providing care and support to various age groups; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; proven supervisory and leadership skills. Experience in outpatient and geriatric services. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift residents and spend extended time on their feet. Have stamina and strength to perform the job. Ability to use your hands to move a person's body and provide therapeutic exercise. Use mechanical aids to reduce the need to lift residents. Why choose Morningstar Living?
