Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/16/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) RN - New Jersey Start Date: March 16, 2026 Location: Newark, New Jersey Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 13-week assignment, every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday), patient ratio 1:2+, 19-bed unit Highlights: Pediatric critical care environment with cardiac patient population in a 19-bed PICU Advanced equipment experience including Medtronic pacemakers, telemetry monitoring, BiPAP/CPAP, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care EPIC charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, and radiology Opportunity to float to Pediatrics and NICU based on skillset and appropriate assignment Professional development through required peripheral IV and central line education package (11 contact hours) Exposure to diverse patient diagnoses across adolescents, pediatrics, and infants Requirements: Minimum 2 years of PICU critical care experience required; 1 year of cardiac experience strongly preferred Active New Jersey or Compact state RN license required at time of submission BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred Previous travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers not accepted) Proficiency with EPIC charting system required Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care required Competency with Medtronic pacemakers and telemetry monitoring required Completion of peripheral IV and central line education package required for new bookings All certifications must be current at time of submission Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers experienced pediatric critical care nurses the chance to work in a specialized PICU environment with a focus on cardiac care and advanced monitoring technologies.
