Key Responsibilities As a Physical Therapist, you play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with physical disabilities or injuries. Your specialization in movement science equips you to design tailored treatment plans that not only restore function but also alleviate pain and enhance mobility for patients. Here’s what a Physical Therapist does: Comprehensive Assessment: Perform clinical evaluations and relevant diagnostic tests to identify impairments and functional limitations, gaining a comprehensive understanding of each patient's condition. Treatment Planning and Implementation: Create personalized treatment plans based on assessment results, patient goals, and best clinical practices, employing various therapeutic methods to improve function and well-being. Manual Therapy and Therapeutic Techniques: Employ hands-on techniques like joint mobilization and soft tissue mobilization to address dysfunctions and enhance mobility, while also integrating therapeutic exercises tailored to patient needs. Pain Management and Modalities: Adapt treatment modalities to patient responses, ensuring effective pain management and ongoing adjustments to their treatment as necessary. Functional Training and Rehabilitation: Lead patients through mobility training, gait training, and activities of daily living (ADL) retraining to improve their capabilities in everyday tasks and meaningful activities. Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program. Current license/certification in the state of practice. TMC is an equal opportunity employer.
