We are seeking a knowledgeable and collaborative Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to oversee the clinical and regulatory operations of our long-term care pharmacy. In this leadership role, you will help ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while guiding pharmacy operations to support quality patient care and service excellence. Requirements Regulatory & Compliance Leadership You'll be the officially designated PIC - the go-to for Board of Pharmacy, DEA, CMS, and all regulatory matters. You'll: Maintain pharmacy licensure and required documentation Oversee controlled substances, audits, and diversion prevention Lead inspections and corrective action plans Keep us compliant, prepared, and inspection-ready at all times If you take pride in running a tight ship, this is your lane. Clinical Oversight That Matters You'll ensure medications are dispensed safely, accurately, and on time for long-term care residents who depend on us. You'll: Oversee order verification and clinical review Ensure cycle fills, stat meds, emergency kits, and specialized packaging meet LTC standards Support consultant pharmacy services Keep patient safety front and center This is precision with purpose. Operational Excellence You'll lead our pharmacist team and keep daily workflow running efficiently. You'll: Supervise pharmacists (staffing, scheduling, development) Refine and implement SOPs Partner with leadership on workflow and technology improvements Provide after-hours support when needed You won't just manage. You'll elevate. Quality & Risk Management You'll build a culture of continuous improvement. Investigate medication errors and near misses Implement corrective and preventive actions Ensure strong documentation and follow-through You believe quality isn't optional. It's standard. Required: Active, unrestricted Maryland Pharmacist license Eligible to serve as PIC under Maryland regulations 2-5 years of pharmacy experience (LTC or institutional preferred) Strong knowledge of federal/state pharmacy laws and DEA regulations Leadership mindset and operational confidence Preferred: Previous PIC or pharmacy manager experience Experience with LTC pharmacy systems and automation technology Northern Pharmacy is an Equal Opportunity Employer
