As a Registered Nurse Ventricular Assist Device Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in our Heart Transplant Clinic. This position requires expertise in pre-implant, post-implant, and inpatient mechanical circulatory support clinical practices. You will be an essential advocate and educator for patients, fostering their independence and assisting in their recovery journey. This role entails working closely with the mechanical circulatory support/transplant team, independently monitoring patients, managing outpatient clinics, and collaborating with transplant physicians to optimize patient care. Education Requirements: Required: Registered Nurse Diploma Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Work Experience: Required: 3 years of relevant experience with an RN Diploma or RN Associate Degree, or 2 years of relevant experience with a BS Degree in Nursing Certifications: Required: Current Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of practice Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association Preferred: Certification in clinical specialty area Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficiency in data entry and software related to role Effective verbal and written communication skills Strong leadership abilities Reliable transportation and contact method, as on-call availability may be required Job Duties: Conduct pre/post-implant clinical activities Provide education to patients regarding procedures Educate nursing staff and colleagues Engage in activities for professional growth Participate in compliance and quality initiatives Perform additional duties as assigned This position may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and other potentially infectious materials.
