As a Preconstruction Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of these initiatives by providing accurate estimates for diverse and complex projects, including water, wastewater, environmental, and military facilities. Your expertise in evaluating proposals, conceptual designs, and detailed documentation will be invaluable. By participating in design meetings and conducting site visits, you'll help to define the project scope, ultimately clarifying its cost implications. In your role as a mentor within our dynamic team, you will develop project work breakdown structures, perform scope of work take-offs, and create detailed statements of work for subcontractors and vendors. Your application of effective construction methods will facilitate seamless project execution, while your calculation of indirect field and owner costs will enhance our project insights. Collaboration is key! Partnering with design teams, you will ensure that we collect the necessary information for precise design-build construction estimates. Utilizing your creative and analytical skills, you'll produce comprehensive reports, engaging presentations, and analyze historical data to inform future projects. We seek meticulous candidates with a strong construction background, ready to embrace the challenges associated with water and wastewater projects. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required, along with extensive relevant experience. Proficiency in essential technologies related to estimating, scheduling, and database software is crucial. Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, Microstation, Bluebeam, Timberline, Microsoft Excel, Primavera P6, Smartsheet, and SQL-based databases will be beneficial. A solid understanding of estimating structures and processes is essential, covering quantity takeoff, crew development, and risk models. Experience in quantitative risk analysis using software tools is necessary, preferably with Deltek Acumen for schedule and cost analyses. Familiarity with industry software like Timberline and HCSS Heavy Bid, along with Primavera P6 for project scheduling, is an advantage. A proven track record of mentoring junior staff is highly valued. This position may involve occasional travel based on project needs, although regular travel will be minimal. Additionally, we appreciate the following skills and attributes: Exceptional written, oral, and presentation skills. A proactive approach to client interactions, especially regarding scope, schedule, and budget discussions. The ability to build strong relationships and effectively manage conflicts. Independence in managing responsibilities, while being open to guidance. A comprehensive background in water and wastewater construction, complemented by relevant field experience. The ability to meet the physical and environmental demands of the role, including standing, walking, and adapting to varying conditions typical in the water and wastewater design-build industry.
