We strive to incorporate diverse perspectives and ideas to challenge and improve how we do business in a rapidly changing and expanding industry.OverviewOur O&M Apprentice Electricians perform regular maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and small utility solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. Our O&M team's focus is to be the premier solar O&M in Colorado by providing best-in-class customer service and the technical expertise required to keep systems online and running efficiently. This role works with licensed Journeyworker Electricians to install both the electrical AC and DC portions of our projects. Namaste Solar supports and helps pay for apprenticeship training in the four-year apprentice program with IECRM (Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain). This training is a requirement for the position. Essential Functions Perform electrical and mechanical service work on commercial and small utility solar PV installations in Colorado.Complete routine preventative maintenance and testing. Troubleshoot and repair solar PV system components efficiently and safely.Install and repair remote communication systems.Initiate and facilitate equipment warranty claims and vendor RMA processes.Communicate with customers via emails and phone calls. Monitor and maintain stock of spare parts.Track and report materials and equipment expenses This position will occasionally require "on-call" coverage one weekend dayEnrollment in four-year apprenticeship educational training programClean driving record and ability to meet our insurance carrier's qualifications Skills and Qualifications Commitment to follow safety protocols and strong safety mindsetFlexibility to work in a dynamic environment with a wide variety of job scopes.Desire to pursue a career in the electrical trades.Attention to detail and technical aptitude.Ability to travel within the state of Colorado.Comfortability working at heights, on ladders, and pitched roof surfaces.Professional and timely communication style.A background in solar PV, electrical, and/or mechanical systems Physical demands & Work Environment Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Driving required to site locations.Work environment: The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate. Work environment changes can be expected. Work environment is outdoors on the ground and on roofs with infrequent warehouse/office activities. On our project sites, exposure to dangerous electrical gear and wiring, as well as other construction-related hazards, is possible. The daily temperature outside varies from hot to cold depending on the season. Exposure to adverse weather is possible (rain, snow, wind).Travel: Daily travel from home to jobsite is required. Travel to project locations requiring overnight lodging (travel/lodging per diems included) may be required at times.
