As a Disaster Recovery Program Specialist, you will be integral in supporting applicants during their recovery journeys. Key Responsibilities: Collect, organize, and review applicant data to determine eligibility and prioritize assignments. Conduct thorough audits for completeness and gather essential information during the Preliminary Damage Assessment (PDA). Facilitate effective communication with applicants by scheduling regular meetings and diligently tracking outstanding requests from FEMA. Coordinate the transmittal of documents and arrange site inspections with applicants and inspectors. Validate claims through meticulous review of damage details, scopes of work, and associated costs. Participate in FEMA meetings to provide updates and evaluate claims, with an emphasis on eligibility recommendations. Assist in crafting the Determination Memo and conveying outcomes to applicants during project close-out. Conduct informative exit briefings with applicants and perform additional duties as needed. Engage in site inspections to verify damage and bolster the FEMA Public Assistance grant delivery process as required. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. 5 years of relevant in-field experience (or 2 years with a bachelor's degree). Must be a U.S. citizen and capable of obtaining a FEMA Badge, which includes a background investigation. Skills Required: Strong organizational skills to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Exceptional attention to detail and superior customer service abilities. Proficient in both written and verbal communication. Ability to adapt swiftly to changes and maintain flexibility. Travel Requirements: 100% domestic travel required. Additional Information: Pay Range: $27.30 - $48.30 per hour. This position requires a valid driver's license. This role involves both office and field locations.
