Required Skills: Responsibilities of the Principal Software Engineer include: Direct the team's objectives and technical vision to discover efficiency opportunities within the larger organization. Communicate intricate features and systems clearly and effectively. Assess industry and company trends to guide the development of new technologies. Collaborate with organizational leaders to enhance team and organizational performance. Identify new opportunities for the organization and influence key stakeholders on prioritization and staffing. Develop a long-term technical vision and roadmap for cross-company initiatives. Gather, synthesize requirements, and establish an efficient feature roadmap. Tackle performance and scalability challenges, leading initiatives to reduce technical debt. Minimum Qualifications: We are looking for candidates with the following: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. At least 12 years of programming experience in a relevant language or 8 years with a PhD. A proven ability to plan a multi-year roadmap where short-term projects align with long-term goals. Experience leading extensive cross-functional engineering projects. Skilled in using data and analysis to clarify technical issues and suggest solutions. Capability to communicate and collaborate across functions to drive outcomes. Experience mentoring and influencing stakeholders at the executive level. Preferred Qualifications: Additionally, the ideal candidate will have: Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Swift, or Kotlin, as well as scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, or Hack. A minimum of 8 years of experience in building large-scale applications or related fields. A track record of enhancing quality through diligent code reviews, appropriate testing, effective rollout, and proactive adjustments. Public Compensation: $219,000/year to $301,000/year plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
