About the Role As an Income Tax Specialist at H&R Block, you have the unique opportunity to build lasting client relationships by delivering exceptional service tailored to diverse tax needs. You'll provide clients with the expertise and support they need to navigate their tax journeys with confidence and care. Your Responsibilities: Take a consultative approach to understand clients' financial goals and identify opportunities for potential tax savings. Build rapport with clients by demonstrating empathy and a genuine commitment to their financial well-being. Conduct thorough tax interviews, both in-person and through virtual platforms, including video, phone, and chat. Prepare accurate tax returns for individuals and small businesses, ensuring compliance with IRS regulations. Provide essential IRS support to clients. Offer ethical and credible tax advice, regardless of client suggestions. Maintain confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive information. Stay current with tax laws, tools, and technology to enhance service accuracy and effectiveness. Utilize H&R Block's digital tools and platforms to improve the tax preparation process and client experience. Collaborate with team members to foster a positive work environment and enhance overall client service. What We Are Looking For: A passion for delivering exceptional client experiences. Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex tax topics. Knowledge and experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or tax. Familiarity with virtual tools and technology. A solid understanding of individual tax return preparation and relevant IRS regulations. Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends, especially during tax season.
