Job Details Location: Hartford, Connecticut (Zip: 06106) — Hartford healthcare jobs / Connecticut nursing jobs Assignment Type: Travel (travel nurse / travel RN) Unit: Neurosurgery Operating Room (Neuro OR, Neurosurgery RN, OR nurse) Duration: 13 weeks (March 9, 2026 – June 9, 2026) Hours: 40 hours per week Shifts: 10 Hour Days; Four shifts per week (with rotation to evenings as needed for case coverage) Call: Rotating overnight call rotation Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday shift commitment Compensation: Estimated weekly pay: $3,370 - $3,550 per week. Job Requirements Active, unrestricted RN license (state licensure requirements for travel nurses apply) At least 1 year of recent experience in a Neuro OR or other high-acuity surgical setting (neurosurgery experience preferred) BLS certification (required) Strong clinical skills to support complex neurosurgical procedures in a Level 1 Trauma center Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills Ability to rotate to evenings and participate in overnight call as needed CNOR certification preferred but not required (certified operating room nurse) Responsibilities Provide direct perioperative patient care in the Neurosurgery Operating Room, ensuring safety and optimal outcomes for neurosurgical patients Perform scrub and circulating duties for complex neuro cases as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team Assist with high-acuity neurosurgical procedures, including preparation of specialized instrumentation and implants Prepare and maintain the operating room environment for complex craniotomies, spinal procedures, and other neuro cases Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery and respond appropriately to changes in condition Participate in rotating call and cover cases as needed, including evenings and overnight shifts Maintain accurate documentation and uphold hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards Hartford is known for its vibrant arts scene, historic charm, and access to parks and cultural attractions — a great place for travel nurses seeking Connecticut nursing jobs.
