General Purpose: As a Security Specialist, your main responsibility is to ensure a safe and secure environment for both employees and customers. You will maintain a visible presence at the store's entrances and exits, helping to deter theft and fraud while fostering a welcoming atmosphere. Your duties will include engaging with customers, monitoring safety procedures, and assisting store leadership in implementing proactive loss prevention measures. Key Responsibilities: Ensuring Safety: Promote a secure environment by practicing safe behaviors and aiding leadership in addressing safety issues. Team Engagement: Deliver exceptional customer service through friendly greetings and attentiveness, respecting all customers and fellow associates. Brand Representation: Maintain a professional appearance and embody the Ross brand standards. Theft Prevention: Observe for suspicious behaviors and implement loss prevention strategies, alerting leadership of any concerns. Operational Efficiency: Assist in strategies to reduce operational shortages by training associates on effective practices. Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent; AA degree preferred. 1 year of retail supervisory experience or relevant training preferred. 1 year of loss prevention/security training preferred. Active Security Guard License preferred. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong communication skills. Demonstrated capability to build relationships and resolve conflicts effectively. Must comply with all applicable laws related to security roles. Physical Requirements: Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Capable of lifting objects over 25 lbs.
