Transform Lives Through Communication in the Majestic Heart of Texas - Become a Part of Our Team as a Speech Language PathologistOverview Envision a career where your expertise literally gives voice to purpose. As a Speech Language Pathologist in one of Texas's most vibrant and diverse cities, your role will extend past the treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. You will harness the power of speech to unlock abilities, invigorate confidence, and foster human connections - from the joyful giggles of toddlers discovering language to the triumphant regaining of independence by seniors. This position offers a distinctive opportunity to impact a diverse range of clients throughout their lifespan within an environment merging outpatient therapy and sporadic inpatient support. Whether your passion lies in the enchanting world of pediatric language acquisition, the complexities of adult neurogenic communication disorders, or the intricate field of geriatric cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation, this position promises a rewarding and adaptable experience. Role Responsibilities Conduct evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing both established assessments and observational analysis. Create individualized treatment strategies that fulfill short-term targets while addressing long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives. Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication, language proficiency, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing capabilities. Work collaboratively alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to engineer comprehensive care strategies. Provide educational support to patients and families to facilitate progress beyond clinical encounters. Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions ensuring a seamless continuum of care during the treatment journey. Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational policies. Engage in ongoing professional development through continued education and peer support. Qualifications A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already ASHA-certified. Required Certifications State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Mandatory: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first month of employment. Essential Skills Expertise in evidence-based treatment practices for all demographics, demonstrating a robust grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Outstanding interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Ability to modify therapy methods to cater to varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in electronic medical records and documentation requirements. Benefits Competitive compensation that reflects experience. Flexible scheduling options for an optimal work-life balance and diverse caseloads. Opportunities for specialization in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics. Paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation. Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans. Reimbursement for continuing education and support for professional development. A cooperative, team-oriented environment prioritizing quality care and lifelong learning. A Career That Enriches You - and Those You Serve In this position, you won't merely provide therapy; you will be a vital part of a community-oriented mission that empowers voices, enhances communication, and produces moments of joy through the most fundamental human actions: understanding and being understood. Work beside colleagues who treat one another like family, in an environment that champions collaboration over competition. Each patient brings their unique narrative; we will rely on your expertise to help convey these stories dynamically. Why You Will Adore Living and Working Here Life in this dynamic city resonates with a blend of modern flair and timeless southern charm. Surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, the community offers a lifestyle that harmonizes cultural vibrancy with abundant opportunities. With historic Spanish missions dotting the landscape and the iconic River Walk winding through the heart of the city, there's an unmistakable allure to exploration. Families come together to enjoy festive gatherings and local fairs, while outdoor enthusiasts revel in activities ranging from serene walks to exhilarating water sports. Culinary adventurers are spoiled for choice among an array of tantalizing food options, from traditional barbecue joints to upscale dining experiences that capture the essence of Texan cuisine. The local arts scene pulses with energy, featuring everything from evocative murals to live performances that bring talent to the forefront, creating an environment that cultivates creativity and collaboration. Professionals not only enjoy a fantastic lifestyle but also reap the rewards of no state income tax, a favorable cost of living, and a thriving healthcare network that sets the stage for career growth. Whether you are beginning your journey in the field or have established roots in your career, you'll discover the room to evolve both personally and professionally in this welcoming locale. We Are Looking For You We are on the lookout for a Speech Language Pathologist who is not only focused on results but also motivated by empathy. One who perceives a silent child and foresees a future of self-expression, and hears the uncertain speech of a recovering survivor and envisions determination. You may be a pediatric expert eager to branch out into adult therapy, or a clinician specializing in neuro strategies ready to incorporate preventive approaches into your practice. Whatever your focus, if you are ready to serve with compassion while leading with proficiency, we are excited to welcome you to our family. Join a community that values communication, connection, and the courage to start anew. Apply now to infuse your voice into our dedicated team - and assist others in discovering theirs.
