Description The Mobile Food Pantry Coordinator manages the day-to-day operations of the Mobile Food Pantry Program within Senior Programs. This role ensures efficient and safe food distribution, oversees volunteers and staff at distribution sites, maintains compliance with food safety and grant requirements, and serves as a liaison between Community Action Committee of Pike County, partner agencies, and the community. The Mobile Food Pantry Coordinator plays a key role in addressing food insecurity while delivering respectful, client-centered service in underserved communities. Essential Functions Functional Area: Program OperationsEstimated Effort: 35% Responsibilities, Deliverables, Outcomes and Expectations: Coordinate logistics for mobile food pantry sites, including scheduling, routes, permits, and site setup Ensure food inventory is procured, transported, stored, and distributed in accordance with food safety standards Maintain detailed and accurate records of food distributed, client services, and site activity Collaborate with the Director to support submission of food insecurity grant applications Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws, including Uniform Grant Guidance and food safety regulations Ensure staff adhere to all CAC policies and procedures during program operations Functional Area: Compliance and ReportingEstimated Effort: 35% Responsibilities, Deliverables, Outcomes and Expectations: Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and organizational policies Track, analyze, and report program data related to inventory, outcomes, and client demographics Assist with grant reporting, monitoring, and program evaluations Support Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforts through accurate data collection and reporting Functional Area: Volunteer ManagementEstimated Effort: 10% Responsibilities, Deliverables, Outcomes and Expectations: Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers at mobile food pantry distribution sites Ensure volunteers follow CAC policies, procedures, and safety guidelines Provide leadership and guidance to ensure a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for clients and volunteers Functional Area: Community and Partner EngagementEstimated Effort: 10% Responsibilities, Deliverables, Outcomes and Expectations: Build and maintain relationships with community partners, host sites, and local service providers Promote the Mobile Food Pantry Program in underserved communities Collect client feedback to identify community needs and improve service delivery Attend outreach events to market and educate the public about program services Functional Area: Other DutiesEstimated Effort: 10% Responsibilities, Deliverables, Outcomes and Expectations: Assist with fundraising or outreach events as needed Support emergency food distribution efforts during disaster or emergency response situations Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior & Transportation Programs Director Minimum Requirements Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Job-Related Experience: One (1) to two (2) years of experience in program coordination, logistics, community outreach, or a related field Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills Licenses, Certifications, and Accreditations: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Food Safety Certification / ServSafe (or willingness to obtain) Preferred Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree Experience working with food pantries, food banks, or community-based organizations Working Conditions This position is both office- and field-based and requires regular travel to mobile food pantry distribution sites. Duties involve physical activity, including loading and unloading food, standing for extended periods, and driving and operating a van or box truck. The role requires lifting 40-50 pounds and may involve early mornings, evenings, or variable schedules based on pantry operations. Work is fast-paced and community-facing, with moderate physical demands.
