2nd Shift Swiss Machinist I

Title: 2nd Shift Swiss- Machinist I Reports to: Production Manager Direct Reports: N/A Department Swiss Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non- Exempt Job Duties and Tasks 1.1 Operate assigned precision CNC machinery 1.2 Receives process traveler and verifies revisions match on all paperwork. 1.3 Receives material and loads bar feeder or fixture as necessary. 1.4 Checks parts for accuracy according to inspection plan and part specifications. 1.5 Verify the correct program is running on the machine and revision matches traveler. 1.6 Red tag units that are out of specifications (OOS) and submit to the Quality Manager. 1.7 Observe line clearance procedures. 1.8 Ensure work area, machine, tooling, and parts are cleaned regularly and free from excess oil. 1.9 Maintain quality and acceptable production outputs. 1.10 Perform daily and routine preventive maintenance on assigned machine based on established standards 1.11 Offset the machine to the blueprint for part conformance as needed. 1.12 Replace tooling at the machine when required 1.13 Attend all assigned meetings 1.14 Follow all company policies and procedures. 1.15 Other duties as assigned. Key Skills, Knowledge and Competencies: 2.1 One- Three years of machinist experience required, preferably within a medical device company. 2.2 Exposure to ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR 820 as it relates to the job. 2.3 Time management, prioritization and organizational skills. 2.4 Knowledge of testing equipment, statistical methods and control plans. 2.5 Organizational and problem-solving skills 2.6 High School or equivalent 2.7 English communication skills preferred. 2.8 General knowledge of precision measuring instruments. The instruments should include, but not limited to calipers, ID/OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators and plug and tread Go/No gauges. 2.9 Ability to read Blueprints 2.10 Required knowledge of basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, and algebra. 2.11 Skilled in adapting to a changing work environment, competing demands and ability to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events. 2.12 Skilled in setting priorities that move projects through efficiently- achieving customer and quality objectives. 2.13 Skilled in working independently, following through with assignments with minimal direction. 2.14 Reasoning skills including but not limited to comparing, classifying, analyzing and coordinating- while minimizing duplication. Education, Certifications, And/or Licenses Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand or walk; use hands, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at a time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines and inspect parts produced. Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that can be distracting or uncomfortable. Includes exposure to moving mechanical parts. Work environment is temperature controlled.
