Our Client, an EV Manufacturer company, is looking for a Body Test and Validation Engineer for their Newark, CA location. Responsibilities: Own and drive hardware testing and validation duties for body systems and components such as instrument panel, center console, door trims, soft trims, hard trims and DMS (Displays, mechanism and switches) as well as vehicle accessories. Coordinate tests from setup through execution and reporting, including test planning, development, execution, inspections, root cause analysis, and data processing. Design and fabricate custom test fixtures for complex bench test set ups. Ensure test findings are well-documented and quickly communicated, root cause test failures and work with design, quality and manufacturing partners. Tracking test schedules and timelines with external test houses and T1 suppliers to assure test schedules are met, and test results are accurate and as expected. Test parts quantity definition and parts logistic coordination. Create and maintain Client validation documentation (DVPR, test specifications, test protocols, test reports) and participate in root cause analysis with the design release engineering team where applicable. Coordinate and manage internal OEM high level tests. Review test reports and prepare test results summary to communicate to DREs. Drive DVP's sign-off for PPAP/LQP on time to enable product salability (SOP). Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering 5+ years of automotive interior or exterior validation and testing experience at OEM, Tier-1 supplier, or Test Lab. Experience using CAD software such as CATIA, 3DX or solid works. Experience with interiors materials (plastics, polymers, fabrics, foams) and/or interiors design and assembly strategies (clips, adhesives, fasteners, welding,) is preferred. Experience with common automotive manufacturing and finishing processes (plastic injection molding, press lamination, hand wrapping, back injection, painting, chrome plating, IMD/IML, etc.) Knowledge of validation milestones along the overall Product Development Process. Experience using standard lab test equipment such as environmental chambers, shaker tables, power supplies, DAQs, force transducers, torque transducers, pneumatic and-or servo electric actuators, thermocouples, strain gages, LVDTs, etc. Experience with FMVSS and other international regulatory requirements for interior components. Experience with Atlassian Jira, and Confluence Great organizational skills and interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Why Should You Apply?
