Job Title: Security Guard, Unarmed Duration: 03/10/2025 - 03/10/2026 Shift: 6:00 PM to 7:30 AM (Night Shift). Work Schedule: 12.5 hours per day, 3 days a week (Monday-Sunday). Time Zone: CST Minimum Qualifications: Education: Equivalent to graduation from a standard high school. Experience: Full-time law enforcement, security, or related experience may substitute for required education on a year-for-year basis. Other Requirements: A valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required for employment in certain positions. Job Overview: Under general supervision, the Security Officer will perform institutional and security-related work of average difficulty. The officer will be responsible for ensuring safety and security of public buildings, personnel, and visitors. This role may involve working various shifts as needed to provide a full range of security services. Key Responsibilities: Admissions Assistance: Assist with processing patients (e.g., wanding with a metal detector, performing pat-downs). Review and document patients' belongings. Emergency Response: Respond to calls and take appropriate actions to assist in emergencies. May be required to respond to Code situations. Security and Access Control: Control entrance and exit of individuals by checking identity, purpose of visit, and authorization. Escort individuals to ensure their safety. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain records, such as incident reports, vehicle citations, visitor logs, and personal property reports. Report security concerns to the supervisor via phone, email, or in-person. Communication: Communicate with law enforcement agencies to report incidents, provide information, and request assistance. Monitoring and Surveillance: Patrol facilities, monitor alarms, and utilize audiovisual/security systems (e.g., TV monitors) to check for hazards, disturbances, or violations. Visually monitor individuals to ensure compliance with policies, rules, and regulations. Vehicle Operation: Operate patrol and transport vehicles to complete security patrols or transport valuables and individuals. Use two-way radios and other communication devices to carry out security tasks.
