We are proud to be trusted partners in shaping safe, efficient, and resilient infrastructure.Job Description:The senior transportation engineer will work independently and lead others to perform civil engineering design services in a team-oriented environment. Project emphasis is transportation engineering design for both public and private sectors which range in scope from small to multimillion-dollar designs. Services are provided to a wide range of clients that include state DOTs and other governmental agencies – municipal, county and state.Duties & Responsibilities: Lead and produce quality highway/roadway design plans that meet client expectations and adhere to project budgets and schedulesServe as the go-to technical resource for internal staffCollaborate with external design disciplinesEnsure technical execution and accountability across projectsAssist project managers with various project duties when support is neededSupervise and mentor engineers, CAD staff, and junior team members while proactively leading tasks and managing multiple concurrent projects under pressure and tight deadlinesPerform other job duties as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college/university requiredProfessional Engineer (PE) registration in Illinois, or ability to obtain IL licensure in 3 months12+ years of experience in civil/highway design projects for state DOT, County, City and/or other municipal clientsExpert knowledge of IDOT/Tollway plan development guidelines and standardsFamiliarity with procedures, methodologies, and standards including but limited to the HCM, MUTCD, AASHTO, US Access Board guidelinesProficiency in MicroStation, Geopak, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads Designer (ORD) within IDOT/Tollway and other agency CADD environmentsProficiency with Excel and other general office softwareStrong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Physical Qualifications: Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periodsVisual focus for electronic documents and design software EFK Moen Offers: Paid Time Off (PTO)Paid Company HolidaysPaid Parental LeaveHealth, Dental and Vision Insurance401(k) with Company ContributionCompany sponsored Short and Long-Term disability coverageCompany sponsored life insurance coverageProfessional License exam fee reimbursementBonus opportunitiesSupport of professional organization membership and activitiesWork-life balance through a flexible, casual work environmentA culture of mentoring and teamwork Starting Salary Range: $125,000–$165,000Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.EFK Moen is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free Workplace.
