VDOT Systems Admin - Hampton Roads TOC

We are looking for a Systems Admin in Virginia Beach, VA! Position: Systems Admin Location:Virginia Beach Experience: -VMWare (preferably VXRail) -Able to be touching a ton of tech, and needing to learn new ones all the time. Jack of all trades. -Admin level knowledge of Windows and Linux -Able to build VMs and able to manage of VSphere -Able to do Windows updates and monitor vulnerabilities -Renaming and restructuring will be a lot of it; changed their domain 6 months ago, so everything needs to be renamed in a certain way. -Network monitoring experience (currently use Nagios) -Experience running real updates -Network migration is nice to have -Knowledge of Active Directory Fully on-site for 3-6 months. After that, switch off 1 day and 2 days remote every week. On Call position: realistically, a call every 2 to 3 weeks. Usually can be fixed remotely. In the last 3 months, no one has had to come into the building. 5-minute call equals 2 hours of work Required Skills : The ideal candidate will have between 4-8 years of experience They need to be able to do all the standard windows and linux functions with no hand holding They will need to be able to perform upgrades They will need to be able to build within VMWare and Vshpere (dont have to be subject matter experts but need to have experience) Vxrail would be a huge plus Need to have experience with Network Monitoring tools (Nagios would be preferred but solar winds, datadog, logicmonitor, Icinga, NinjaOne, Auvik, OpManager, etc would be fine as well) Experience: -VMWare (preferably VXRail) -Able to be touching a ton of tech, and needing to learn new ones all the time.
